1954 Giro d'Italia

The 37th Giro d' Italia was held in 22 sections and 4337 kilometers from May 21 to June 13 in 1954 and won by the Swiss Carlo Clerici. 67 Of the 105 riders started reached the finish in Milan. In this Giro was the final stage with a length of more than 300 km ( as of 2008).

Clerici benefited by his victory of a successful escape to the sixth stage, in which he got enough projection to defend its lead as the non- climbers to Milan against the climbers on the tough stages.
