1968–69 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup
The 11th Inter-Cities Fairs Cup was played in the 1968/69 season. Newcastle United won the discharged in home -and-away final against Újpesti Dózsa SC. For the second time a Hungarian club reached the final of the competition, Newcastle, however, was able to record his last notable success to date. Scorers were Antal Dunai, Ferenc Bene both Újpesti Dózsa SC and Slobodan Santrač OFK Belgrade with nine gates.
