2002–03 Interliga season

The season 2002/03 Inter League was the fourth staging of the special successor of the Alps Hockey League Championship and was played with nine teams from five states. Defending champion was the HDD Olimpija Ljubljana of Slovenia, the new champion was with Alba Volán Székesfehérvár first time a participant from Hungary.

Participants and mode

The field remained essentially unchanged from the previous season. The HK Bled Slovenia had decided to Fall in again after a year, but once again took the last place and not subsequently took part in the league. The Slovakian club MHK Dubnica had withdrawn from the championship, but derHKm Zvolen went to a farm team.

It was played in the regular season a simple round-trip round. This is followed by playoffs joined with semifinals and finals in which the champion was determined. At the same time, the final score of the championship was played in placement games. Playoffs and placement games ever played this series in two games, with the first victory and then were among the better goal difference.

In both series, it stood tied at the end of the regular season with victories and goals, which is why a penalty shootout had to decide on the winner.

With the draw in the second game, Alba Volán Székesfehérvár secured their first league title.
