2005–06 Regionalliga
The season 2005/ 06 the Regional was the twelfth season of the Regional as the third- highest division in German football. It was in two regional scales - played - north and south. In the relay, North played 19 teams, had the South squadron a team strength of 18

North
The North Season played in the 2005/06 season with 19 teams. Rot-Weiss Essen succeeded by winning the championship of the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. The runner-up and also the rise was secured by FC Carl Zeiss Jena. Jena was only the second team in the Regionalliga Nord, which made the direct walkover of the league in the 2nd Bundesliga.
