2008 European Badminton Championships
The Badminton Championships 2008 took place from 12 to 20 April in Herning, Denmark ( Central Jutland ) instead. Venue were the halls of the city, which already held the European Championship 1996. For some European top stars, it was the last European Championships. The Danish player Kenneth Jonassen, who was finally able to put his reputation as "eternal second " at the European Championships, will end his career after the 2008 Summer Olympics. The two Danish top double Jens Eriksen / Martin Lundgaard Hansen and Lars Paaske / Jonas Rasmussen in the Olympic year are also playing their last international tournaments.
