Jens Eriksen

Jens Eriksen ( born December 30, 1969 in Glostrup ) is a Danish badminton player.

Career

1994 Jens Eriksen was with his partner Christian Jakobsen at the European Championships in men's doubles bronze medalist.

Mixed In 1994 he won the European Championships with Anne - Mette Bille the bronze medal.

1997 won Jens together with Jesper Larsen, the men's doubles of the German Open. He was also, along with Marlene Thomsen also won the Mixed competition at this event.

In 1999, the two winners of the Men's doubles at the Swiss Open in Basel.

In 2000 he was European champion in the men's doubles with his partner Jesper Larsen. In the mixed competition at the same event he came up with Mette Schjoldager in the finale that the two but lost to the Danish pairing also Michael Søgaard and Rikke Olsen.

In mixed he won with his partner Mette Schjoldager the Swiss Open in 2001 and 2003.

2002 and 2004 he defended with his new partner Martin Lundgaard Hansen his title as European champions in men's doubles. Mette Schjoldager and Jens were 2002 compared Gail Emms and Nathan Robertson also European champion in mixed doubles. This title in 2004, however the two could not successfully defend, it was only enough for the bronze medal.

He played badminton at the 2004 Olympics in men's doubles and mixed doubles. In the men's doubles Eriksen and Martin Lundgaard Hansen his partner had a bye in the first round and defeated in the second round Howard Bach and Kevin Han from the USA. In the quarterfinals, they beat Fu Haifeng and Cai Yun of China with 3:15, 15:11, 15:8. In the semifinals, they then subject to Lee Dong -soo and Yoo Yong -sung of South Korea with 9:15, 15:5, 15:3 and also the match for the bronze medal against Eng Hian and Flandy Limpele from Indonesia 15:13, 15: 7, and were finally fourth. In the mixed competition, he played with his partner Mette Schjoldager. They defeated Svetolav Stoyanov and Victoria Wright from France in the first and Kim Yong -hyun and Lee Hyo -jung of South Korea in the second round. In the quarterfinals, they beat Nova Widianto and Vita Marissa of Indonesia 15-12, 15-8 to advance to the semifinals. There she lost to Zhang Jun and Gao Ling of China with 15:9, 15:5. In 2006, he successfully defended his title as European champions in men's doubles with Martin Lundgaard. He won three Danish mixed trophy twice and the Danish doubles titles.

In 2008 he was with the Danish national team of men in badminton champions at the European Team Championships in Almere.

In the Danish Badminton Championships 2008 Jens Eriksen was with his partner Martin Lundgaard Hansen runner-up. Both lost in the final against the double world champion from 2003 Jonas Rasmussen and Lars Paaske in straight sets.
