2011–12 Premier Soccer League

The 2011/12 season was the 16th season in the highest South African soccer division of the gentlemen of the Premier Soccer League. As masters started defending champions Orlando Pirates in the season, Jomo Cosmos and Black Leopards secured promotion to the top division and replaced the direct relegated Mpumalanga Black Aces and Vasco da Gama, who lost the play-offs. The season started on 12 August 2011 and ended on 19 May 2012. Orlando Pirates successfully defended his championship title, while Jomo Cosmos directly descended again. Santos Cape Town had in the play-offs, but when the club failed to ascend and descend.

* The game Golden Arrows against Black Leopards was because of the use of tear gas, coupled by the police outside the stadium with unfavorable wind conditions after four minutes with the score at 0-0 26 February 2012 canceled. The catch-up game 7 March 2012 won Golden Arrows 4-2.

Expulsion

The Relegation tournament started on 23 May and ended on 30 June 2012. Here, the Fifteenth of the Premier Soccer League met in 2011/12 ( Santos Cape Town ), second ( Chippa United) and the third in the National First Division 2011/12 ( Thanda Royal Zulu) to each other, each in a return match. At the end of the tournament, the table first qualified for the Premier Soccer League 2012/13, while the other two clubs in the National First Division had to play 2012/13. Winner of the tournament was the second division promoted Chippa United, who thus rose immediately after last year's Rise Again, while Santos Cape Town had to join the in the second division.
