  • First Punic War: A naval expedition of the Romans under the consul Lucius Cornelius Scipio manages the intake of Corsica with the Port Aleria, as well as large parts of Sardinia. Olbia still remains in Carthaginian hands
  • The Carthaginian general Hamilcar Barca Mr. succeed in Sicily at Thermae near Himera in battle a victory over the Romans. He also conquered Camarina and Enna. Drepanum (now Trapani) on the western tip of Sicily, he builds into the strongest Carthaginian fortress of the island and settled the inhabitants of Eryx ( Erice today ) to get there.
