A7 motorway (Luxembourg)

The Autoroute 7, short A7, also called " Route du Nord" or called on Luxembourgish " Nordstroos " runs from the motorway junction Grünewald ( Jonction Grunewald) in a northerly direction.

In the area of Colmar-Berg, the A7 acts as a bypass ( Contournement ) and runs as B7.

The total length will be in the final stage of 31.469 km, of which about half is currently being finalized.

A significant part of the A7 will pass through the three longest tunnel of the Grand Duchy:

  • Gousselerbierg tunnel (length: 2,695 m; traversable since 24 January 2008)
  • Mersch tunnel (length: 530 m; already mobile)
  • Grouft tunnel (length: 2,950 m; completion in 2009)
  • Stafelter tunnel (length: 1,850 m; Construction 1 September 2008)

Since 2002, the junction of the A7 to A1 and junction Waldhaff is completed. The length of this section is approximately 1.3 km away.

A second section, with a length of about 15 km between Luerenzweiler (AS 2) and Schieren (AS 7), is also passable.

The final state of the A7 will be achieved only after the opening of the last two tunnels. The total distance is 2015 will be a fully navigable expected.

B7

In Schieren the A7 goes on in the B7 ( Voie express 7), which continues the Route du Nord to Wemperhardt. The B7 connecting the A7 with the N7 and is considered a bypass of Ettelbrück and Diekirch.
