Adam Svoboda

Adam Svoboda ( born January 26, 1978 in Brno, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since 2011 when HC Plzeň 1929 in the Czech Extraliga under contract.

Career

Adam Svoboda began his professional career in 1996 with HC Sparta Prague in the Czech Extraliga. In 1997, the Czech for HC Pardubice, where he played first as second goalkeeper behind Libor Barta. From the season 1999/2000 of the links catcher finally was goalkeeper of the HC Pardubice, where he remained until 2004.

In the 2004/ 05 DEL Season Svoboda was loaned to the Nuremberg Ice Tigers, where he was on his first jersey was nicknamed " Siggi " due to a printing error. His cheerful and funny way quickly made him a very popular player of the Nuremberg Ice Tigers. For 2005/ 06, the goalkeeper joined the HK Lada Togliatti, before he completed some games for Pardubice and spent the rest of the season at Timrå IK in the Swedish Elitserien. After three extra league games early in the season 2006/ 07 the Czech switched to HC Slavia Prague, where he acted as goalkeeper and was able to win the 2008 Czech Championship.

In January 2009, the goalie moved to HK Avangard Omsk in the Continental Hockey League, where he completed eight games. For the 2009/10 season he returned to the Nuremberg Ice Tigers back, but was behind Patrick Lechner marriage only the second goalkeeper and so came only eight appearances in the DEL.

In June 2010, Svoboda was committed again by HC Eaton Pardubice. This he left after one year and joined the 2011/12 season the HC Plzeň 1929.

Internationally

1996 Adam Svoboda was named in the U18 European Championships as a player of the junior national team of the Czech Republic at the best goalkeeper of the tournament. A year later, he took part with the U20 youth team at World Youth Championship and won the fourth place. As of 2001, the goalkeeper was called again and again for the Games of the Euro Hockey Tour in the national squad, but never made ​​it to the national team for the World Championships or Olympic tournaments. He was taken as a substitute goalkeeper in 2005 and became world champion at the World Championships in Austria. In the two following years he was part of the World Cup team, but came to no inserts.
