Adrian Aucoin

Adrian Mark Aucoin ( born July 3, 1973 in Ottawa, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who, in the course of his career for the Vancouver Canucks, Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Islanders, Chicago Blackhawks, Calgary Flames, Phoenix Coyotes and Columbus Blue Jackets has played in the National Hockey League.

Career

As a teenager, he played for the Boston University in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. NHL Entry Draft 1992, he was selected in the fifth round at 117th place of the Vancouver Canucks. He played two years for the Canadian national hockey team won the 1993 and the Junior World Championship. At the Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer, he won the silver medal.

For the 1993/94 season brought him to his Vancouver farm team, the Hamilton Canucks in the American Hockey League. For the following season, Syracuse Crunch was the new AHL farm team the Canucks from there took one Aucoin also to his first game in the NHL. In his first game against the San Jose Sharks on May 3, 1995, he scored his first goal. The breakthrough in the NHL, he managed in the season 1995 /96 apply. He had in 1998/99, when he appeared with 23 goals and 34 points His best season. He played for Canada at the World Championships 2000.

At the end of the season 2000/ 01 he moved to Tampa Bay Lightning, but remained there only for 26 games. For the season 2005/ 06 he committed the Chicago Blackhawks, but initially threw him back an injury. In Chicago, he plays a more defensive role than in his previous teams. In Chicago he was also team captain. After two unsuccessful season he was transferred in the summer of 2007 to the Calgary Flames.
