1995–96 AHL season

The 1995/96 season was the 60th regular season of the American Hockey League ( AHL ). During the regular season, 18 teams played 80 matches each. Each of the eight best teams in the Eastern Conference and Western Conference then played in a play-off round to the Calder Cup.

Calder Cup Playoffs

For the playoffs qualified in the Northern Conference and Southern Conference each of the eight best teams. While in the Northern Conference in each case the top four teams in each division qualified, was located in the Southern Conference of the Fifth Central Division, the Syracuse Crunch qualify, because they had more points than the fourth of the South Division, the Carolina Monarchs.

In the first three playoff rounds, the winner of the Eastern or Western Division were played, which then clashed in the final of the Calder Cup. While the first playoff round in the best- of-five - mode has been played, all other playoff rounds and finals for the Best -of -Seven mode were played.
