1999–2000 AHL season

The 1999/2000 season was the 64th regular season of the American Hockey League ( AHL ). During the regular season, the 19 teams played 80 matches each. Each of the eight best teams in the Eastern Conference and Western Conference then played in a play-off round to the Calder Cup.

Calder Cup Playoffs

Mode

For the playoffs qualified in the Eastern Conference and Western Conference each of the eight best teams. Due to the different group of Division also varying numbers of participants in the playoffs showed. From the Atlantic Division qualify three of four teams from the New England Division, all five teams, as well as from the Empire State Division and the Mid- Atlantic Division of the best four teams each.

In the first three playoff rounds, the winner of the Eastern or Western Division were played, which then clashed in the final of the Calder Cup. While the first playoff round in the best- of-five - mode has been played, all other playoff rounds and finals for the Best -of -Seven mode were played.
