1989–90 AHL season
The 1989/90 season was the 54th regular season of the American Hockey League ( AHL ). During the regular season, 14 teams played 80 matches each. The four best teams in the North Division and the South Division then played in a play-off round to the Calder Cup.

Calder Cup Playoffs

For the playoffs, the four teams from each division qualified. In the first two play-off rounds, the winner of each division were played. In round three, the two division winners to the finals. All play-off rounds, and the final was played in best- of-seven mode.
