AKO Literatuurprijs

AKO Literatuurprijs is a Dutch literary prize. It is awarded by the Amsterdamsche kiosk Onderneming since 1987 and in addition to a cash prize of 50,000 euros includes a sculpture by Eugene Peters.

History

The prize was donated by the Amsterdam book trade association. From 1997 to 1999, the Belgian Generale Bank took over the Foundation and the price was in this period Generale Bank Literatuurprijs. In 1999, Fortis Foundation and the price was renamed Fortis Literatuurprijs, where he was not awarded under this name. Since 2000, AKO has once held the foundation.
