Alan Stevenson
Alan Stevenson ( born April 28, 1807 in Edinburgh, † December 23, 1865 ) was a Scottish engineer and builder of many lighthouses around Scotland for the Board of Northern Lighthouses.
The Stevenson family has spawned numerous lighthouse builders. His father Robert Stevenson and his brothers David Stevenson and Thomas Stevenson erected lighthouses.
His nephew David Alan Stevenson and Charles Alexander Stevenson and his great-nephew and namesake Alan, the son of Alexander, the tradition continued continued.
Another of his nephew was the writer Robert Louis Stevenson.
