Alejandro García Padilla

Alejandro Javier García Padilla ( born August 3, 1971 in Coamo ), is a Puerto Rican politician and since 2013 the Governor of Puerto Rico.

Career

After high School Alejandro García studied at the University of Puerto Rico the compartments Political science and economy. Later he studied at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico Jura. Initially, he worked in the management ( Law Clerk ) at the Court of Appeal of Puerto Rico. Subsequently he practiced as a lawyer with the heavy points ownership, construction and administrative law. Besides, he stopped at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico legal lectures. He also became a member the lawyer chamber of its territory. García was also legal advisor of three Parliament committees. Politically, he became a member of the Democratic Party of the United States and the puerto- Rican Partido Popular Democrático, where he became CEO had temporarily. Between 2005 and 2009 he was Minister for consumer affairs of the territorial government.

In 2012, Alejandro García was elected against incumbent Luis Fortuño of the PNP as the new Governor of Puerto Rico. As one of his first acts he activated the National Guard of the outside area, which is to check coasts and ports to be against illegal immigration Lord.

Alejandro García is married to Wilma Pastrana, with whom he has three children.
