Alexander Perezhogin

Alexander Valeryevich Pereschogin (Russian Александр Валерьевич Пережогин; born August 10, 1983 in Ust- Kamenogorsk, Kazakh SSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is under contract with Avangard Omsk in the Continental HK Hockey League since 2010.

Career

Pereschogin was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2001 by the Montreal Canadiens in the first round as the No. 25. Previously, he had his professional career in 1999 at the Russian Super league club Avangard Omsk HK started to whom he remained faithful to the end of the 2002/03 season, before he was taken to the next season of the Canadiens under contract.

He first played for their AHL farm team, the Hamilton Bulldogs. This season he scored 50 points in 77 games, returned for season 2004/ 05 but due to an incident in the AHL playoffs on the advice of Montreal's General Manager Bob Gainey to his old club back to Omsk. In summer 2005, he moved back to North America and went on in the game in 2005/ 06 and 2006/ 07 for the Montreal Canadiens. In his first game he also achieved his first goal. On 8 May 2007, he signed a contract with Salavat Yulaev Ufa, for whom he played from 2007 to 2010 - first in the Super League and from the 2008/09 season in the Kontinental Hockey League newly established. In the 2007 /08 season he was with Ufa Russian masters. For the 2010/11 season he returned within the KHL back to his former club Avangard Omsk HK.
