Alexei Litvinenko

Alexei Nikolaevich Litvinenko (Russian: Алексей Николаевич Литвиненко; born March 7, 1980 in Ust- Kamenogorsk, Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh professional ice hockey player who stands since 2010 at Barys Astana in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Alexei Litvinenko began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at youth level Torpedo Ust- Kamenogorsk, for the first team he made his debut in the Wysschaja League, the second Russian league was in season 1998/99. He was then in the ninth round as a total 262 players selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1999 by the Phoenix Coyotes, but then did not receive him under contract. In the following season the defender ran parallel to HK Dynamo Moscow in the Russian Super League. The season 2000/ 01 he finally spent in the League rivals Dynamo-Energy Yekaterinburg.

In summer 2001, Litvinenko was committed by the Russian champions HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk, with whom he failed in the season 2003/ 04 until the championship final on HK Avangard Omsk. In the following two years, the former national player for the SKA Saint Petersburg and Spartak Moscow to HK was on the ice, before he returned for the 2006/07 season to his former club from Magnitogorsk. With this he reached the biggest success of his career when he won the Russian championship with Metallurg. In the 2007 /08 season Litvinenko completed only games for Metallurgs second team in the third-class Perwaja league. Also at Spartak Moscow, where he finished the season, he could not prevail and only came on nine Erstligaeinsätze throughout the season.

In summer 2008, Litvinenko signed with Vityaz Chekhov of the newly formed Continental Hockey League, for which he regularly since then was used. In 2010 he moved to league rivals Barys Astana.

Internationally

For Kazakhstan Litvinenko took at junior level at the U20 World Junior Championships in 1999 and 2000, as well as with the seniors at the B World Championships in 2000 and 2001 in part. In addition, he was in his country's squad at the A World Championships in 2005, 2006 and 2010 and during the qualification for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
