Altoona is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Lake County in the U.S. state of Florida with 89 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Altoona is bordered to the south by the city of Umatilla and is crossed by the Florida State Road 19. The CDP is located about 20 km north of Tavares and about 60 km north of Orlando.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 89 inhabitants distributed in 48 households. The population density was 74.2 inh. / Km ². 98.9 % of the population were white and 1.1% Asian Americans. 1.1% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 41.5 % of all households lived in 26.8 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 48.8 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.17 persons and the average family size is 3.15 people.

21.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 19.1% were 20-39 years old, 31.5% were 40-59 years old and 28.0% were at least 60 years old. The median age was 48 years. 55.1 % of the population were male and 44.9 % female.

The average annual income was $ 43,724, while no one was living under the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100 % of the population.
