The Lake County is a county located in the state of Florida in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Tavares.

Geography

The county has an area of 2,995 square kilometers, of which 526 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Volusia County, Seminole County, Orange County, Polk County, Sumter County and Marion County.

History
