Lake County (Florida)
The Lake County is a county located in the state of Florida in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Tavares.
Geography
The county has an area of 2,995 square kilometers, of which 526 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Volusia County, Seminole County, Orange County, Polk County, Sumter County and Marion County.
History
The Lake County was formed on 27 May 1887. It was named in the field after the Numerous lakes. In Lake County, there are about 1,400 lakes.

According to the census in 2010 lived in Lake County 297 052 people in 144 786 households. The population density was 120.3 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 82.0 % White, 9.8 % African American, 0.5% Indigenous and 1.7 % Asian Americans. 3.7% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.3% in different ethnic groups. 12.1% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.
In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 40.4 % of all households lived in 27.3 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 69.1 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.42 persons and the average family size is 2.86 people.
23.0% of the population were younger than 20 years, 19.9% were 20-39 years old, 25.8 % were 40-59 years old and 31.2 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 46 years. 48.5 % of the population were male and 51.5 % female.
The median income for a household was $ 45,663, while 13.0 % of the population lived below the poverty line.
In 2010, English was the mother tongue of 88.22 % of the population spoke Spanish 8.82 % and 2.96% had a different mother tongue.
