Orange County (Florida)

The Orange County is a county located in the state of Florida in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Orlando.

Geography

The county has an area of ​​2601 square kilometers, of which 251 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Seminole County, Brevard County, Osceola County and Lake County.

History

The Mosquito County was formed on December 29, 1824 from parts of St. Johns County. In 1845 it was renamed in Orange County, according to the fruit, which was planted here and by their marketing people secured an easy prosperity. Today there are no commercially operated orange plantations more in Orange County, however, still some packaging companies, processing companies that relate to the oranges from the south of Florida.
