Indian River County, Florida

The Indian River County is a county located in the state of Florida in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Vero Beach.

Geography

The county has an area of ​​1,598 square kilometers, of which 294 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: St. Lucie County, Okeechobee County, Osceola County and Brevard County.

History

The Indian River County was formed on 30 May 1925 parts of St. Lucie County. It was named after the upstream Indian River Lagoon.
