Nassau County (Florida)
The Nassau County is a county located in the state of Florida in the United States. The the county seat ( county seat ) is located in Fernandina Beach.
Geography
The county has an area of 1880 square kilometers, of which 192 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Duval County and Baker County.
History
The Nassau County was formed on December 29, 1824 from parts of Duval County. It was named after the German Duchy of Nassau.

According to the census in 2010 lived in Nassau County 73 314 people in 34,950 households. The population density was 43.4 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 89.8 % White, 6.4% Black or African American, 0.4% Indigenous and 0.9 % Asian Americans. 1.0% were members of other ethnic groups and 1.6% in different ethnic groups. 3.2% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.
In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 29.4 % of all households lived in 30.8 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 72.5 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.53 and the average family size is 2.93.
24.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 21.9% were 20-39 years old, 30.2% were 40-59 years old and 23.7 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 43 years. 49.3 % of the population were male and 50.7 % female.
The median income for a household was $ 57,163, while 11.1 % of the population lived below the poverty line.
In 2010, English was the mother tongue of 95.73 % of the population spoke Spanish 2.65% and 1.62 % had a different mother tongue.
