The Taylor County is a county located in the state of Florida in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Perry.

History

The Taylor County was formed on December 23, 1856 from parts of Madison County. It was named after Zachary Taylor, the 12th President of the United States, whose term lasted from 1849 to 1851.

Geography

The county has an area of ​​3,191 square kilometers, of which 492 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Jefferson County, Madison County, Lafayette County and Dixie County.
