Columbia County (Florida)

The Columbia County is a county located in the U.S. state of Florida. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Lake City.

History

The Columbia County was formed on February 4, 1832 from portions of Alachua County and named after Christopher Columbus.

Geography

The County is located in the north of Florida, bordering Georgia and has an area of ​​2,075 square kilometers, of which ten square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Baker County, Union County, Alachua County, Gilchrist County, Suwannee County and Hamilton County.
