Liberty County (Florida)
The Liberty County is a county located in the U.S. state of Florida in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Bristol. The county is one of the Dry counties, which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.
Geography
The county has an area of 2,184 square kilometers, of which 19 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Gadsden County, Leon County, Wakulla County, Franklin County, Gulf County and Calhoun County. It lies between the Ochlockonee River and the Apalachicola River in the west. The County is located in the Panhandle of Florida and is one of the least populated areas of Florida.
History
The Liberty County was formed on 15 December 1855. It was named after what people appreciate most - freedom.
Parts of the 1936 designated National Forest Apalachicola National Forest extend County.

According to the census in 2010 lived in Liberty County 8,365 people in 3,295 households. The population density was 3.9 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 77.3 % White, 17.9 % African American, 1.1% Indigenous and 0.2 % Asian Americans. 1.9% were members of other ethnic groups and 1.7% in different ethnic groups. 6.2% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.
In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 26.1 % of all households lived in 36.6 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 70.3 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.57 persons and the average family size is 3.05 people.
23.5% of the population were younger than 20 years, 31.2% were 20-39 years old, 29.9% were 40-59 years old and 15.3 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 37 years. 60.9 % of the population were male and 39.1% female.
The median income for a household was $ 39,225, while 22.2 % of the population lived below the poverty line.
In 2010, English was the mother tongue of 94.66 % of the population spoke Spanish 4.76% and 0.58 % had a different mother tongue.
