Lafayette County (Florida)

The Lafayette County is a county located in the state of Florida in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Mayo. The county is one of the Dry counties, which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.

History

The Lafayette County was formed on December 23, 1856. It was named after the French Marquis de Lafayette, who had fought under George Washington in the Revolutionary War.

Geography
