Astor is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Lake County in the U.S. state of Florida with 1,556 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Astor is located on the west bank of the St. John River and about 45 km north of Tavares and about 90 km north of Orlando. The main part of Astor's is located in Lake County (Florida ) west of the St. Johns River. A small part of the village is located in Volusia County east of the river. The division of Stadtauf two counties ( Lake and Volusia ) leads to the remarkable fact that there are two different area code. Calls over the river are thus long-distance calls, while you lead a local call from Daytona to Astor. West on Astor borders the Ocala National Forest.
