André Dias

André Gonçalves Dias ( born May 15, 1979 in São Bernardo do Campo ) is a Brazilian footballer. Dias plays in the position of central defender. He is since 2010 under contract at Lazio.

Career

André Dias began in 1999 with the professional football league in the Copa São Paulo de Juniores, where he played for Palestra de São Bernardo. In the same year he signed a contract with Paraná Clube, where he played for one year before he moved to first division side Flamengo. Dias was only a short time at Flamengo under contract until he moved to another club, this time for Paysandu SC. Again, a year went by until he went to Goiás EC, where he established himself as a strong and talented defender.

After he had completed two seasons in Goias, he was bought by FC São Paulo. He remained there until 2009, where he joined the Italian Serie A.

Dias secured his way to Europe on 1 February 2010, where he signed release with the Italian club Lazio for 2.63 million euros. In the first ten league games he scored two goals.

In the 2012/13 season slides was made as a co-responsible for Lazio's leap to the top of the table positions responsible. Under Lazio's new coach Vladimir Petković slides with Giuseppe Biava and Michaël Ciani was formed as the backbone of the squad, to form a play strong defense, which was one of the best in the series A.

2009 Dias was appointed by the manager Dunga in the national team, where he met the Chilean national team in the World Cup 2010. However, he was not prepared.
