Angéla Németh

Angéla Németh [ ɒŋɡe ː ne ː lɒ mɛt ], after marriage Ranky, ( born February 18, 1946 in Budapest ) is a retired Hungarian athlete. At a height of 1.76 m her competition weight was 75 kg.

At the 1968 Olympic Games, the final began in the javelin as four years ago: the Romanian Mihaela Peneş went in the first attempt in the lead. Unlike four years earlier but was surpassed already in the second trial, as Angéla Németh was achieved with 60.36 m the only 60 -meter-throw of the competition. Németh won gold before Mihaela Peneş and Eva Janko from Austria.

After their marriage, she appeared as Angéla Ranky at the European Championships in 1969. With 59,76 m, she won against her compatriot Magdolna Vidos. Two years later Angéla Ranky was 57.44 m fourth at the European Championships in 1971.

At the Olympic Games in 1972 Angéla Ranky just missed the final with 53.48 m in 13th qualifying. As Twelfth came Magdolna Paulányi how Magdolna Vidos was called after marriage, with 53.62 meters.
