Anibare District

Anibare is a district on the island nation of Nauru. It is a part of the constituency Anabar. The whole coast line consists of the beach of Anibare Bay. On the southern half of the beach 2000 Anibare Harbour was built. In the West Anibares is the gathering place of the mined phosphate, which is transported from there by train to Aiwo for shipment.

Anibare means, according to Paul Hambruch " many minds "; perhaps the name is due to the fact that there is in the Nauruan mythology of the entrance to the Haunted Island Buitani, which represents the underworld in Anibare.

Anibare located east of Nauru, and is 3.1 km ². It has 226 inhabitants. It is bordered to the south by Meneng, on the west by Buada, Nibok and Uaboe, on the northwest by Baiti and to the north by Anabar and Ijuw.
