Anke Borchmann

Anke Borchmann ( born June 23, 1954 in Neukalen as Anke Green Mountain ) is a former rower from the GDR. She was Olympic champion and two-time world champion.

In 1974 she was under her birth name for the first time DDR champion sculls and finished in the double sculls third place.

The World Rowing Championships 1975, she won the title in the quadruple sculls. At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal she won along with Roswietha Zobelt, Jutta Lau, viola Poley and control woman Liane Weigelt Olympic gold in the quadruple sculls. In 1977, she won the competition in the double sculls at the world championships along with Roswietha Zobelt. In 1976 she was awarded the Olympic victory in Montreal with the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.

The rower of the SG unit Potsdam was trained by Barbara Müller. After her career, she worked with the NVA. After the reunification of their employment was taken over by the water police.
