Are Parish

Are ( German: Arrohof ) is an Estonian rural municipality in the district of Pärnu. The region covers an area of 161 km ² with 1332 (2006) inhabitants. The municipality is situated approximately 17 km from Pärnu.

Structure

In addition to the main town of Are the rural municipality includes the villages Eavere, Elbu, Kurena, Lepplaane, Murru, Niidu, Suigu, Tabria, Pärivere, Parisselja and VOLLA.

Daughters and sons

The village Eavere is the birthplace of Estonian composer anti Marguste (* 1931).
