Arianna Errigo

Arianna Errigo ( born June 6, 1988 in Monza ) is an Italian fencer in the branch of foil, Olympic champion and world champion.

At the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, she won the silver medal in the individual competition of the Florettfechtens of women. In the final battle she succumbed to her compatriot Elisa Di Francisca; Bronze went to another Italian, the multiple Olympic champion Valentina Vezzali, which had been defeated in the semi-final battle of Errigo. A few days later, she won jointly with Di Francisca, Vezzali and finally substitute for Errigo replacement fencer Ilaria Salvatori the gold medal in the team competition.

2013 was Errigo in Budapest world champion in the individual competition of the Florettfechtens of women. They also gained at the World Championships the following medals: Single 2009 bronze and 2010 silver in team competitions in 2009, 2010 and 2013 Gold, 2011 Silver. In addition she won four gold medals with the team (2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 ) and two bronze medals in the individual (2009 and 2012 ) at the European Championships.

In the 2008/2009 season Errigo won the Appreciation of the World Cup in foil fencing of women; this she succeeded again 2011/2012.
