Asterix and the Great Divide
The large ditch ( original French title: Le Grand Fossé ) is the 25th Asterix band. He appeared in 1980, both in the original language as well as German and was designed by Albert Uderzo drawn as well as written.
Action
In a Gallic village is war. Therefore, there is a trench was dug that divides the village. The inhabitants are different opinions: Some want Griesgramix as village chief, the other Grobianix. Comments
It is the first Asterix album, which was texted by Albert Uderzo. Before that came the lyrics from René Goscinny died in 1977.
The love story reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet. The Great Divide is the author says it is a direct allusion to the Berlin Wall, others saw here the other hand, the bipartite France before the election of François Mitterrand as President.
Publication
After irreconcilable differences between Uderzo and the publisher Dargaud took in the fall of 1979, Uderzo's own publishing house Les Edition Albert René shape and published this volume in France in 1980.
The German translation was published in issues 254-259 of the magazine Yps and appeared in 1980 at Ehapa than 24 band in the Asterix series. With the 2002 reissue of the band was given a new title screen.
Albert Uderzo drew in the Great Divide the Gallien- map, the side with the idea of the Gauls and the vignette on the back of the album again. The publisher Dargaud, however, lodged an objection and received law. As a consequence, showed the reprints of the laid at Albert René title since 1989, a new leader.
The band appeared among others in English, Spanish and Turkish as well as in the dialects of Swabian, Swiss German, Viennese and Hessian.
