Atte Engren

Atte Engren ( born February 19, 1988 in Rauma ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender, who has a contract with HC Lev Prague from the Kontinental Hockey League since May 2013.

Career

Atte Engren began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Lukko Rauma, for the U18 and U20 junior he was active between 2004 and 2008. Parallel to this was the goalkeeper in the 2006/07 season his debut in professional hockey for the U20 national team of Finland, which took part as a guest team in the second-rate Mestis. In addition, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in the seventh round in 2007 when a total of 204 players from the Nashville Predators, but remained first in his native Finland. In the 2007 /08 season he was the first time in SM- liiga for Lukko Rauma between the posts for which he graduated as a game like as Players out on loan for the second division Hokki Kajaani. He spent the entire rest of the season but at Lukkos U20 juniors.

For the season 2008/ 09 moved within the SM- liiga Engren to TPS Turku, for which he played six times in his first year in the SM- liiga. In parallel, he was with the U20 Junior TPS from the Jr. A SM- liiga runner-up in the appropriate age group and ran in five games as Players out on loan for Kiekko -Vantaa in Mestis on. In the 2009/10 season, the former Finnish youth international was able to prevail in the professional team of TPS and led his team as a goalkeeper in addition to the American David Leggio to winning the Finnish Championship title. During its 35 main round inserts he had a Gegentorschnitt of 2.63 goals per game at a catch rate of 92 percent. In his eight playoff stakes he could even increase again and let an average of only 1.82 goals per game at a catch quota of 93.5 percent. As a reward for his good performances he was elected to the All-Star team of the SM- liiga and he received the Urpo - Ylönen trophy as the best goalkeeper in the league.

In the season 2010/11 Engren took first with TPS Turku in part in pre-season at the European Trophy. In the quarterfinals, he retired with his team against eventual champion Polar Bears Berlin. In the subsequent round of the SM- liiga main he was able to increase its number of season operations significantly compared to the previous year. End of March 2011, he was ordered by his Draft Team Nashville Predators, where he had signed a two year contract in the previous year, to North America and played until the end of the season in four games for their farm team in Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. Also in the 2011/12 season he played for Milwaukee in the AHL, before he returned in May 2012 to TPS Turku.

In May 2013 Engren was obliged by HC Lev Prague.

Internationally

For Finland Engren took part in the U18 World Youth Championship in 2006. In this he reached with his team winning the silver medal, which he stayed on as goalkeeper behind Riku Helenius without use.

In the men's World Cup in 2013, he was a third-choice goalkeeper in the squad of the Finnish national team, but had no use.
