Austria Davis Cup team

The Austrian Davis Cup team is the national team of Austria tennis, which is used in the Davis Cup. After climbing 2010 Austria plays at the time back in the World Group for the title. The Davis Cup is the most important competition for national teams in men's tennis, similar to the Fed Cup for the women.

Since 1905, Austria took 77 times intermittently at the Davis Cup in part, with the last interruption over 60 years ( 1947) ago. In 144 missions, the team won 68 times. The player with the most wins (45 wins, 18 defeats) and individual victories (36 wins, 8 losses ) is Thomas Muster, the most successful doubles player is Alexander Antonitsch (13-14). In addition Antonitsch has the most inserts are available to book.

The best result in the Austrian Davis Cup history was the arrival in the semi-finals in 1990 where they lost at home to the U.S. Davis Cup team in the Ernst- Happel stadium with 2:3. In the recent past, 2012 is the achievement of the first World Group quarterfinal significantly since 1995.
