Bagnolo in Piano

Bagnolo in Piano is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9591 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Reggio Emilia in Emilia -Romagna. The community is located about 7.5 kilometers north-northwest of Reggio Emilia.

History

The toponym Bagnolo may stem from the Latin flumen Baniolus and one of the many smaller rivers called in the local branch of the Po Valley. 946 is shown the construction of the church of Santa Mustiola. 1335 obtained the royal family of Gonzaga dominion over Bagnolo addition to the more significant Reggio Emilia and Novel Lara.

Traffic

The community is located 5 kilometers north of the Autostrada A1 from Milan to Rome via Bologna. A train station is located on the non-electrified railway line from Reggio Emilia to Guastalla. The previous connection Bagnolo in Piano by Carpi in the province of Modena was closed in 1955.
