Poviglio

Poviglio is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 7093 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Reggio Emilia in Emilia -Romagna. The community is located approximately 17.5 kilometers north-northwest of Reggio Emilia and about 16 km east-northeast of Parma. About 7 kilometers north of Poviglio flows the Po.

History

The name of the place Povigliop is proven documented since 1022. He should go back to a Name.

Traffic

At the former railway line from Reggio Emilia by Boretto was a railway station in Poviglio. With the closure of the route in 1955 and the station was decommissioned.
