Baie de Baly National Park

The National Park Baie de Baly ( German: Bay of Baly ) is in the northwest of the island of Madagascar near the villages Soalala and Ambohipaky, and removed about 150 km from the provincial capital of Mahajanga. Its southern boundary is the River Kapiloza and it is crossed by the Andranomavo.

Not far from the National Park Baie de Baly is also the National Park Tsingy de Namoroka.

Fauna

The park has 13 species of mammals, of which six primates of 37 different species of reptiles, 8 amphibians and 122 species of birds. Among these species particularly the Malagasy beak breast turtle is to say, which is found only in this small area.

Other rare species of Madagascar Eagle ( Ankoay ), Great Makis, the from- the - ceiling Sifaka and the Red Maki.

Flora

129 species are found in the National Park.

Special

Due to the faith of the local population, pork is not allowed in the National Park. If arriving by ship from Mahajanga Pistachios are also taboo.
