Ban Hong District

Amphoe Ban Hong ( Thai อำเภอ บ้านโฮ่ง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of Lamphun Province. The Lamphun Province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Wiang Nong Long which, Pa Sang, Mae Tha, Thung Hua Chang and Li Lamphun Province, as well as Hot and Chom Thong province of Chiang Mai.

History

Ban Hong was founded in 1917 as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ), consisting of Tambon, which were cleaved from the county Pa Sang. On 24 June 1956, the sub-district received the full Amphoe status.

Management

The circle is divided into five subdistricts (tambon ), which are divided further into 59 villages ( Muban ).

Ban Hong is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district. It consists of parts of the tambon same name.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
