Barbara Merlin

Barbara Merlin ( born January 12, 1972 in Turin ) is an Italian former Alpine skier. She specializes in the disciplines of downhill and Super -G.

Biography

The three years older sister Alessandra Merlin began her career with inserts in FIS races and in the European Cup. Your best result at Junior World Championships 1989 was the fifth place in the downhill. From 1991 it was used in the World Cup. The first World Cup points she brought on 8 December 1991, when she was in Santa Caterina fourth in the giant slalom. As a consequence, however, did not succeed in establishing itself on top of the world, only few reach their results in the top ten.

Their most successful season was Merlin in the winter of 1994 / 95th On January 22, 1995, she achieved the best World Cup result of her career when she finished the descent on the Tofana in Cortina d' Ampezzo in second place.
