Biskra Province

The province of Biskra (Arabic ولاية بسكرة, DMG Wilāyat Biskira ) is a province ( wilaya ) in eastern Algeria.

The province has an area of ​​21,094 km2 and is located near the border with Tunisia in the transition region between the densely populated north and the sparsely populated south.

Around 692,000 people ( 2006 estimate ) live in the province, the population density is thus 33 inhabitants per square kilometer.

The provincial capital is Biskra.
