Blatnice (Třebíč District)

Blatnice ( German Blatnitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers northeast of Moravské Budějovice and belongs to Okres Třebíč

Geography

Blatnice is located in the headwaters of the Nedvědka in South Moravia. North of the village runs the small river Rokytka. South-west rises the Bily Kopec ( 459 m). The place is situated on the state road 152 between Moravské Budějovice and Jaroměřice Rokytná.

Neighboring towns are Popovice and Jaroměřice Rokytná in the north, Příštpo in the east, in the southeast Ohrazenice, Dvorek in the south, and Lažínky Moravské Budějovice in the southwest, and Lukov Melkusův Mlýn in the west and Bohušice in the northwest.

History

Blatnice was first documented in the year 1046.

After the abolition of patrimonial Blatnice belonged since 1850 to the District Commission Znojmo. The seat of the district court was in Moravian Budwitz.
