Bludov (Kutná Hora District)

Bludov ( German Bludau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 15 kilometers southwest of Čáslav and belongs to Okres Kutná Hora.

Geography

Bludov located in the valley of the Bludoský creek in a forest clearing in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. To the north lies the Stauweiher Katlov.

Neighboring towns are Katlov and Mladá Zhoř in the north, Zhoř in the northeast, Petrovice I in the east, in the southeast Víckovice, Třebětín in the south, Řeplice in the southwest, and Radvančice Zbraslavice in the west and Zdeslavice in the northwest.

History

Bludov was first documented in 1550.

After the abolition of patrimonial Bludov in 1850 into an independent municipality in the district of Kutná Hora. In 1929 the electrification of the village took place. Bludov was incorporated in 1950 after Zhoř and 1961 together with it to the hamlet of Červené Janovice. Bludov acquired on November 24, 1990 back its independence and is one of the smallest municipalities in the Czech Republic.
