Bob Rouse

Robert John Rouse ( born June 18, 1964 in Surrey, British Columbia ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. During his career he played for the Minnesota North Stars, Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League.

Career

Rouse played for four years from 1980 to 1984 in the Western Hockey League with the Billings Bighorns, Nanaimo Islanders and Lethbridge Broncos. During his time in the WHL defender in the NHL Entry Draft in 1982 was selected in the fourth round to 80th by the Minnesota North Stars.

In the course of the season 1983/84 Rouse played his first NHL game for the franchise, and remained loyal to the team in the season 1988/89 into it. In March 1989 it transferred the management, together with Dino Ciccarelli, Mike Gartner and Larry Murphy to the Washington Capitals. There Rouse remained until January 1991, before he was sent to Peter Zezel for Al Iafrate to Toronto. There, too, Rouse drew up a place in the squad. In the summer of 1994, he moved again within the NHL, when he went as a free agent with the Detroit Red Wings. With the team he won for the seasons 1996/97 and 1997/98 in two consecutive years, the Stanley Cup. After the second success Rouse signed in summer 1998 with the San Jose Sharks, where his contract was terminated in December of 1999/00 season. Then Rouse ended his 16-year NHL career.
