Bombardier Talent

The talent is either a diesel train - from scratch or by electric multiple unit - with mechanical or electrical power transmission. There are versions with and without tilting. The interior ( seat dividers ) is freely selectable.

The prototype was presented in 1996; until the beginning of 2003, more than 300 units were delivered or ordered.

The manufacturer Bombardier has developed a purely electric successor under the name Talent 2, which is produced since 2008.

Specifications

The talent is a normalspuriges full rail vehicle according to UIC standard. It is available with an optional tram equipment such as turn signals, mirrors and others.

Criticism

After massive protests, the Austrian version with a vehicle-mounted wheelchair ramp was retrofitted. Accidents

  • On 25 June 2012, the Talent railcars 643225-5 DB Regio NRW got ( Euregiobahn ) on the line between Aachen and Stolberg near Eilendorf on fire. The fire broke clear from the first class area.
