Bondeval

Bondeval is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Bondeval is located on 455 m above sea level, 8 km south-southeast of the town of Montbéliard (air line). The village is located south of the basin of Montbéliard, a scenic location on the plateau of Bondeval east of Doubstals, in the northern foothills of the Jura.

The area of ​​4.68 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the northern French Jura. The northern part of the area occupied by the plateau of Bondeval, which is situated at an average altitude of 450 meters and has a width of about one kilometer. She is inclined slightly to the north. The boundaries of the plateau to the west by the Doubs Valley, to the east by the incision of a Trockentals. To the south, the land rises gradually to the plateau of Blamont, part of the Jura mountains. The plateau is partly passed with arable and meadow land, partly by forest. With 560 m is achieved at the level of Grand Planchet the highest elevation of Bondeval.

Neighboring communities of Bondeval are Seloncourt in the north, Thulay in the east, Roches- lès- Blamont and Écurcey in the south and Mandeure and Valentigney in the West.

History

Is first mentioned Bondeval in 1196 in a bull of Pope Celestine III. under the name Bollonval. Since the Middle Ages the village belonged to the rule Blamont, which was under the suzerainty of the Counts of Montbéliard. In 1282, the rule Blamont went from Montbéliard in the possession of the Lords of Neuchâtel on. After Bondeval was 1506 again came under the suzerainty of the Count of Montbeliard, 1541 the Reformation was introduced. As part of the rule Blamont, which formed one of the four gentlemen of the Principality of Montbéliard and was annexed in 1699 by France, Bondeval 1748 came contractually finally to France. Today Bondeval belongs to the Association of Municipalities of the Communauté de communes des Balcons du Lomont.

Attractions

The Church of Bondeval was built from 1835 to 1836. From 1833 dates the building of the Mairie ( Municipal House ).

Population

With 477 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Bondeval one of the small communities of the department of Doubs. Once the population has consistently had in the first half of the 20th century in the range between 300 and 375 people, a slow but steady population growth has been recorded since the early 1960s.

Economy and infrastructure

Bondeval was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village.
