Borisoglebsk

Borisoglebsk (Russian Борисоглебск ) is a Russian city and raion center of Voronezh Oblast. With 65 585 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ) is to Voronezh the second largest city of the territory.

Geography

The city lies on the southern edge of the Oka - Don - plane along the railway line Moscow-Volgograd, about 240 kilometers east of Voronezh and about 600 km southeast from Moscow. History

Borisoglebsk emerged from a fortress, which was built to protect the Tatars. It was founded according to the prevailing opinion of the home historian in 1698, another hypothesis is that already 1646. Economy and Transport
